Who are you?
There is a lot of confusion when it comes to electricity suppliers, clean energy suppliers, solar power, community solar, and many other terms in the solar industry. So, first, I would like to tell you what we are not. We are NOT a third party energy supplier. Thus, we do not start with low introductory rates that may rise after the introductory period.
We simply match you to a local solar farm that we partner with, look into your electricity use history and help you subscribe to a portion of the farm, make sure you get those solar credits every month, and stay around for any questions you may have.
About Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY
The Regional Food Bank has been helping to feed the poor and hungry in our communities since 1982. It is the only organization of its kind in northeastern New York. The Food Bank collects large donations of food from the food industry and distributes it to charitable agencies serving hungry and disadvantaged people in 23 counties. From Plattsburgh to Newburgh, in urban, rural, and suburban communities, the Food Bank provides over 35 million pounds of food a year to 1,000 agencies.
How does community solar work? Do I need to install anything?
In order to understand how we help, you need to understand what Community Solar is. Community Solar allows you to have access to solar power without having to install a solar panel on your properties. Joining Community Solar through us also ensures that you do not have to pay any fees.
Signing up is easy! We ask for your electric utility account number so we can look up the amount of electricity you used over the past year. We may also ask for your payment information so we can bill you for your solar energy. Solar credits appear on your electric bill automatically each month. Thus, your solar electricity bill will always be 10% less than the solar credits.
What are your guarantees?
At Astral Power, we want to make sure that you get access to solar power with no headaches or costs. You continue getting your electricity from your current utility company (RGE, NYSEG, Orange and Rockland, Central Hudson or others), so there will not be any change in how you receive your electricity. We guarantee a 10% savings on your utility bill, no matter how much electricity you use each month. Finally, we guarantee your satisfaction. If you are not satisfied, you can cancel immediately with no costs or fees.
